Scheme for Relief and Rehabilitation of Women Acid Victims

Haryana Government is implementing a scheme for Relief and Rehabilitation of Women Acid Victims under which the assistance is provided to the victims of acid attack, who are residents of Haryana and have become victims of acid attack in Haryana.

Under the scheme victim is entitle to receive free of cost 100% medical treatment from the Govt./Govt. approved hospitals. This amount will be reimbursed by the WCD Department. Under the scheme adhoc relief of Rs. 1.00 lakh, is provided to the acid attack victim. 18 women Acid Victims and 1 child have been covered under this scheme since inception. A sum of Rs. 30.00 lakh has been provided for the year 2023-24, out of which a sum of Rs. 1.54 lakh has been spent upto the month of November, 2023.

Eligibility

Any victims facing acid attack after 02.05.2011 will be eligible. Where the Acid victim has not been finally cured and all process over, such victim shall be considered due to continuing cause of action. The scheme will cover all acid attack victim girls/women residing in Haryana.

Benefits Provided

1. Rs.25000/‐ as ad‐hoc relief immediately by concerned DC and Rs.75000/‐within 15 days by Women and Child Development Department to facilitate immediate medical expenses.
2. Finance Support for 100% medical treatment including medicine, food, bedding and plastic surgery/reconstructive surgery, if any from amongst any of the Government Hospital/Government approved hospital.
