Protection Against Domestic Violence

The State Govt. has taken a unique initiative by appointing 22 Protection-cum-Child Marriage Prohibition Officers (PPOs) at district level to implement the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 and Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, the office of Protection-cum-Child Marriage Prohibition Officers has been set up in the premises of Mahila Police Station. 30 service providers like Haryana State Social Welfare Board, District Red Cross Society and District Child Welfare Council etc. have been selected for providing necessary assistance to the aggrieved persons in the State. All Govt. Hospitals, PHCs and CHCs have been notified for medical facility and 2 Shelter Homes have also been notified for providing shelters to the needy women under this Act. The status during the current financial year up to September, 2024 is as under:-
