    Compensation Scheme for Women Victims/survivors of sexual assault/other crimes -2018

    The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, in W.P. (C) No. 565/2012 titled Nipun Saxena vs. Union of India, observed that it would be appropriate for the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) to constitute a Committee comprising four to five members for the purpose of framing Model Rules for Victim Compensation in cases of sexual offences and acid attacks, taking into consideration the submissions made by the learned Amicus Curiae. The learned Amicus Curiae as well as the learned Solicitor General of India expressed their willingness to assist the Committee as and when required. It was further directed that the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, or a nominee thereof, should be associated with the said Committee.
