:: STATE CHILDREN'S BOARD ::


The Govt. of Haryana aims at providing opportunities for the mental, physical, emotional and educational development of the children so that they can realize their full potential.  To focus on the need for coordinating all the activities relating to the needs of children and to provide a forum for this purpose, the Haryana Government has set up a new State Children’s Board vide Notification No. 1608-SW(3)-2003 dated 19.06.2003 as below:

   II)         The functions of the Board will be as under: -

1.      To create and sustain public awareness regarding the need and rights of the
       children, especially the girl child.

      2.      To get a Plan of Action for the Child prepared and implemented in Haryana, with
      special emphasis on the girl child.

      3.      To co-ordinate and integrate the efforts made by different Government and
       private agencies, voluntary bodies, public institutions and other organisations
       engaged in implementation of the programmes for Child Development.

      4.      To review the progress made in the implementation of the State Plan of Action for
      the Child and any other Programmes relating to children.

      5.      To locate the gaps in the existing services and suggest measures for eliminating
      such gaps.

      6.      To suggest any changes needed in the priority accorded to different programme.

      7.      To review the facilities / concessions given to children by other departments, such
      as Education, Industrial Training, Health and Scheduled Castes / Backward Classes
      Welfare Department, with special emphasis on the benefits given to girl children.

  III)       The terms of the Board will be up to December, 2003.

  IV)       The official members shall draw TA and DA from their respective departments and the non official members will be paid TA/DA equal to grade-II of the Govt. employee as per instructions of Chief Secretary to Govt. Haryana issued vide letter No. 36/6/98-POL(4P) dated 9.2.1999.

  V.        The Board shall ordinarily meet at least once in a year and the headquarter of the Board will be at Chandigarh.
